Whitewater Raft or Kayak the South Fork American River

June 2 & 3

A couple of Paddle to the Sea alum have taken on the task of bringing Paddle to the Sea to the American River! They invite you to join them along the way, starting with a couple of the most popular whitewater trips in California.

Whitewater rafting trips

The American River delegation of Paddle to the Sea 2012 will be completing private whitewater rafting trips on June 2 and June 3. A few boaters are making space on their rafts, and Tuolumne River Trust supporters are invited to come along. A limited number of seats are available. A $30 fee will be charged to cover shared costs of the trip.

Leg 1a - Saturday, June 2 - Chili Bar (CLASS III)

From Chili Bar to Camp Lotus, approximately 8 miles

Leg 2a - Sunday, June 3 - The Gorge (CLASS III)

From Camp Lotus to Salmon Falls Bridge, approximately 12 miles

WAIT-LIST: We are getting close to capacity for Legs 1a & Leg 2a. We are working to secure additional boats and guides to expand our capacity so we have room for more paddlers - we think it is likely we will be able to expand. After the final seats are sold we will start a waiting list in the order in which people sign up. Whitewater kayaking

Kayakers with their own equipment are also welcome to join in the
two legs listed above! Please register your trip with Paddle to the Sea so that we can coordinate with you and include you in our shuttle plans.

Free Camping thanks to Camp Lotus

Camp Lotus has offered Paddle to the Sea paddlers free camping accommodations at a group campsite called "Hogan's North" for up to 25 people on Friday and Saturday nights (June 1 and June 2). Please join the party! After registering for your paddle-a-thon trip, you will receive further information about this option.
