Private Whitewater Kayaking or Rafting Trips
Paddlers with the necessary experience and equipment are welcome to run their own private rafting trip or kayaking trip as part of Paddle to the Sea. The Wild & Scenic Tuolumne River has a Class IV rating. You will need to secure a private boating permit from the Forest Service. The Tuolumne River Trust does not have the authority to issue permits. Please
register your private trip with Paddle to the Sea so that we can coordinate with you!
Cherry Creek Run or Clavey River
The Cherry Creek Run (Class V) and the Clavey River (Class V+) are two extra exciting whitewater options that may or may not be included in Paddle to the Sea depending on the flows in late May / early June and the availability of paddlers with the skills and experience to complete these sections. If you are a whitewater rafter or kayaker who is interested in these runs, please contact Paddle to the Sea Director Jessie Raeder at 415-882-7252 or email
paddle@tuolumne.org.
